Alcohol played role in injury crash on M-24

An injury accident backed up traffic on Lapeer Road outside of downtown on Sept. 8.
Both drivers in the two-car accident were transported to the hospital, with the responsible driver then being arrested for driving while intoxicated, according to an Oakland County Sheriff’s Department report.
The responsible, a 35-year-old Oxford man, registered preliminary breath test results, and subsequent test results, well over the legal limit.
After being treated at the North Oakland Medical Center, he was transported to the Oakland County Jail.
The other driver was also transported to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
