Leslie Wilson has a bad case of puppy love.
Last week, the Oxford resident finalized the adoption of a wee four-legged fella from the K-9 Stray Rescue League facility located at 2120 Metamora Rd.
‘Something about his little face spoke to me,? Wilson said. ‘After touring the place, he was the one that was on my mind all night long. I came back the next day and put a deposit down for him.?
She brought the 9-week-old Corgi/Jack Russell Terrier mix home to her children and the family dog.
‘This is our first rescue (dog),? Wilson said. ‘We have a 2-year-old Lab who’s so sweet and we decided we wanted a friend for him. I thought (a puppy) would be a good match for our dog, who’s kind of a laid-back guy.?
The little fella was named Chase at the rescue, but Wilson said his new moniker is Judd.
She learned about the K-9 Stray Rescue League through some friends who donate their time there ? Paula Day and her daughter Maddi, 12, a student at Oxford Middle School.
‘I actually didn’t even know this place was here until they started volunteering,? Wilson said.
She had nothing but praise for the K-9 Stray Rescue League’s level of competence and care.
‘I’m really impressed with the number of dogs they have here and they seem to know each one very well,? Wilson said. ‘I know it’s important to them to place them with the right families.?
