Andrew Szykula earns degree from U of M

Andrew Szykula, a 200 Clarkston High School graduate, earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in December 2004.
The son of Bill and Pennie, of Clarkston, Andrew remained active in the performing arts while at U of M where he was cast in the production of the musical West Side Story as a Jet gang member, A-Rab. He took a behind-the-scenes role as an assistant producer in Titanic, the Musical the following season. Andrew was also on the Michigan Solar Car team during his junior year and worked on the test chassis of the Spectrum car that competed in the American Solar Challenge and the World Solar Challenge.
In 2003, Andrew accepted a co-op position at Applied Materials in Santa Clara, California where he tested the performance of mass flow controllers and other micro-fluidic systems. Also on the intern social committee, he helped organize events for interns and other co-op students.
Andrew is currently living large in Ann Arbor and interviewing for mechanical engineering positions and hopes to join the automotive industry.
