Annual Flower Fair is May 20-21

Downtown Lake Orion presents the Fifth Annual Flower Fair and Home and Garden Marketplace on May 20-21.
In conjunction with DTLO, the Orion Art Center will present the Mystery Fine Art Tour and Fine Wine Tasting on May 19, as well as the Art in Bloom Street Art Fair, in conjunction with the Flower Fair.
The Mystery Art Tour begins at Poppyseed Deli, where participants receive their clues. This is a walking tour through downtown, looking for clues hidden in original works of art.
When participants have solved the puzzle, they will meet at the OAC for a wine and cheese tasting and silent auction of special art creations.
Art in Bloom is an all-media art fair and street banner exhibition.
This year’s Flower Fair hours will be 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday.
Vendors will offer everything from flats of flowers to water plants, new windows, brick pavers and decking, garden ponds, and outdoor furniture.
Speakers will be on hand on Saturday to answer questions about their products, and to give ‘how to? lessons.
The Orion Senior Center will be selling hanging baskets, flats of annuals, four-inch pots of annuals, and container pots of mixed annuals at the fair. Among the plants for sale will be spikes, vinca vine and seed geraniums, dahlia, new guinea impatiens, dianthus, marigolds and more.
Seniors will also be selling ceramic pots, ceramic garden art, knitted and crocheted items and crafts.
All funds raised will go towards funding senior center programs, special events and activities.
The Flower Fair will also include children’s activities, including an OAC-sponsored craft center, Moonwalk and pony rides.
There will be entertainment for the whole family, including Radio Disney, as well as local musicians and statewide acts performing on both days. A climbing wall will be open on Sunday.
In addition, food treats will be available, including roasted nuts, kettle corn, ice cream and flower-shaped cookies.
The Lake Orion Downtown Development Authority will also offer door prizes, including items offered by visiting vendors.
Stop by the DTLO booth to register for prizes.
