Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church will present speaker and psychotherapist Mariahn Thursday, April 15, from 7-9 p.m. during an ‘Understanding Mental Health Issues? Educational? Series.
Gillian will facilitate an interactive evening aimed at helping people learn to look at anger in a new way.
According to facilitators, the series will assist participants in identifying beliefs about anger and how those beliefs affect how people deal with anger, offering a model to identify issues beyond the emotion of anger.
Techniques for expressing anger in a healthy, effective way will also be offered.
Gillian has been a graduate-degreed, licensed psychotherapist for over 25 years. She works with individuals and couples on issues related to depression, anxiety, life transitions and relationship problems. One particular area of interest for her is working with people who have challenges related to growing up in dysfunctional families.
Married for 39 years, she is the mother of three married daughters, eight grandchildren and believes her work is ‘a calling from God.?
The program is co-sponsored by The Ministries of Healing of Christ the Redeemer Catholic Community, in partnership with the Oakland County Community Mental Health Authority and the Oakland County Suicide Prevention Coalition.
