The North Oakland County chapter of Ducks Unlimited was recently voted the number one chapter in Michigan at the Michigan Ducks Unlimited state convention.
At the national level, the North Oakland Chapter was ranked 14th in the country of over 3,500 chapters. Over $88,000 was raised by the North Oakland Chapter, which represents over 350 acres of wetlands conserved and protected forever.
Ducks Unlimited conserves, restores and manages wetlands and associated habitat for North Oakland’s waterfowl. These habitats also benefit other wildlife and people.
Ducks Unlimited is the world’s largest private wetlands and waterfowl conservation organization, with membership over 600,000. Since 1937, Ducks Unlimited has conserved more than 11 million acres of North American wetlands and associated uplands.
North Oakland County’s 24th annual Ducks Unlimited Banquet is scheduled for May 3 at Deer Lake Athletic Club.
