Senior Hazen Brennan is the Athlete of the Week for his performance at the boys cross country regionals on Oct. 29.
Brennan’s time of 16:12 was good for fifth place overall, was a personal record and is a top 10 time in CHS history.
‘I was really pleased for Hazen finishing fifth overall,? said Clarkston Coach Mike Taylor.
Hazen began running cross country in seventh grade.
‘My dad was a runner, he influenced me,? said Brennan of his father Ed.
Another Brennan named Ed, Hazen’s twin brother, provided ‘a running buddy? over the years.
Upon graduating in 2006, Brennan is considering both Western Michigan and Northern Michigan University to continue his education. He would like to run cross country in college, but should he choose to attend Northern will be forced to jog recreationally as the upper peninsula based school does not have a team.
Hazen has lived in Clarkston since he was in the first grade. Aside from his father and twin brother, he lives with his mother, Linda, and younger brother, Ian.
