Brandon Twp—During the regular meeting on July 1, the Brandon Township board of trustees voted 7-0 to approve the audit report for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2023.
“Overall the township is still in good financial condition,” said auditor Ken Palka of Pfeffer, Hanniford & Palka. “Your numbers are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principals, and that’s what outside readers want to see.”
For the 2023 fiscal year, the total revenues for the township increased to $6,095,080, up $474,077 from the previous year. The total expenses also increased $461,875 from the previous year, bringing expenses up to $5,368,104.
Despite the increase in expenses, the township was able to increase the general fund by $783,890 from the previous year, bringing the total to $4,586,477. The designated portion of the fund balance is $92,613, which includes funds designated to the potential sewer system.
