A Rattalee Lake Road resident took to social media, Monday, to warn of two or three men trying to break into homes and garages over the weekend.
‘I was told today that they are wearing black and black camo, black ski masks, using red and blue lights for signaling to each other,? she said. ‘They didn’t see a vehicle, two or three men and they would run off into the woods to hide when someone spotted them, but they were persistent and kept coming back.?
She said neighbors in the area, Rattalee Lake and Dixie Highway in Springfield Township, called police, but Sgt. Matt Baldes, commander of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Springfield Township substation, said they didn’t receive any calls at that time.
He recommends residents keep an eye out for each other and not hesitate to call.
‘If you see a prowler trying windows and sneaking around, call 911,? Baldes said. ‘Lock your cars. Lock your doors.?
A similar incident was reported on Feb. 4 in Independence Township. A resident in the 7000 block of Bridge Valley reported someone took a jacket, sunglasses, and hat from an car which was parked unlocked.
The sheriff’s office non emergency line is 248-858-4911. To report tips, call Call 800-SPEAK-UP or 800-773-2587.
