Goodrich’s girls soccer team began its playoff drive with a 5-0 win against Croswell-Lexington June 1.
Amber Beard scored two goals to lead a potent Goodrich attack. Meredith Mayberry, Amy Kovas, and Heather Cardenau also scored for the Martians.
Goodrich is now 11-4-1, and hosted North Branch in a June 3 district semifinal contest.
Brittany Beard and Jessica Merchberger teamed up in goal to earn the shutout for Goodrich.
The Martians clinched the Genesee Area Conference title with an 8-0 whitewashing of host Essexville-Garber in a May 28 matchup. Goodrich compiled a 10-2-1 record in league play.
Amber Beard, Ali Smith and Meg Holt tallied two goals apiece for the Martians, while Stacy Luttrell and Natalie Cook scored one goal apiece.
