Beautiful homes, businesses keep village looking mahvelous!

Most of the reason Oxford Village is such an attractive town is because so many property owners take great pride in the places in which they live, play and do business.
It’s the countless property owners who wield paint brushes, plant flowers and spend countless hours manicuring their lawns to perfection that keep the village looking like a center spread straight out of Better Homes and Gardens.
To honor those folks who work so hard at keeping their properties looking so good, the Oxford Village Beautification Commission recently named 10 winners as part of its 21st Annual Beautification Awards program.
Seven charming homes and three attractive businesses were selected from amongst the 62 nominees this year. Seven of the properties are previous winners.
This year’s residential winners are:
n 86 Dayton St./Linda Bartnik
n 88 Dayton St./Larry and Bonnie Staley
n 71 First St./Ronald and Karen Etherton
n 11 Crawford St./Mary Ann Schlicht
n 400 Lakes Edge Dr./ Dr. Paul and Kathie Schafnitz
n 659 Thornehill Trl./Andy and Julie Marshall
n 450 Lakes Edge Dr./Louis and Betty Sera
Commercial winners are;
n Roots Hair Salon, 11 Mechanic St.
n Dry Coolers, 575 Glaspie St.
n Williams Art Glass Studio, 22 N. Washington St.
Winners were selected based on their property’s aesthetic contributions ? landscaping, upkeep, repairs and improvements ? toward the village’s overall appearance.
The awards are designed to encourage others to spruce up or maintain their residential and commercial properties, which has the net effect of beautifying the entire community.
