The Brandon High School Student Council is hosting their annual charity week Dec. 10-14, and this year they’re raising money for Leader Dogs for the Blind.
“The goal is just to raise money to pair leader dogs with those in need,” said Charity Week Chair Macy Roberts. “Our goal is $5,000.”
On Monday, Dec. 10, the student council will be hosting a movie night with a free screening of “Santa Paws” at the high school preforming arts center at 6 p.m., where there will be concession sales that will go towards the fundraising. On Tuesday, there will be a bake sale and miracle minute during the girl’s varsity basketball game at 7 p.m., where student council members will run through the stands with a stocking to gather donations. On Wednesday, those looking to eat out can go to Buffalo Wild Wings in Grand Blanc between 5 and 9 p.m. and mention Brandon High School to have a portion of the profit go towards charity week. On Thursday there will be a district wide hat day and breakfast vendors, and on Friday there will be a district wide pajama day, which students pay a dollar to participate in.
“We do it every year and this year we are going to states,” said Roberts. “We’re trying to win an award for our charity week.”
