Blackhawk Cross Country competes at Flint Metro League Jamboree #2

Atlas Twp.— On Sept., 25 the Brandon Cross Country teams traveled to Goodrich Middle School for the second Flint Metro League meet of the season.
The Blackhawk Boys XC team improved on their first league performance by taking 10th out of the 12 teams.
The Blackhawks were led by Nathen Brinker 18:20 who took 20th overall, and Jacob Hylton 18:26 finished 22nd.
“Both were the first athletes from Brandon to score all league points (top 24) since 2022,” said Blackhawk Head XC Coach Wes Diener.
The pair were followed by Chase Compau 20:18 who PR’d and improved his place from the first league meet. The varsity runners that rounded out the first race were Braxten Spurr 21:34; Ryan Savoie 25:16; Alex Burch 27:03 and Troy Wychuyse 28:35.
The Lady Blackhawks finished 11th out of the 12 team field. They were led by seniors Clara Mackey 23:37, who had her second fastest race ever, and Danielle St. James 24:30 who had a season’s best. They were followed by Aquetzalli Hernandez 28:02; Emma Mulcahey 28:13, and Addison Hollenbeck 28:14, who worked as a pack to finish together. Blackhawks Sadie Buell, and Lilly Mastin rounded the varsity runners on the day.
On Oct. 5, the Brandon Blackhawks Cross Country team next competes at the Greater Flint Championships.
