Clarkston’s Post High Special Needs students are going into business to benefit SCAMP.
The 28 students, many former SCAMP campers, are making cold compress decorated into “Boo Boo Bunnies,” with help from local artist Judy Hoddinott.
“It’s a very industrious group,” Hoddinott said.
The students, ages 18-26, make the product by folding washclothes and decorating them with eyes, tails, and ribbon, then work with local shops to keep them in stock, and keep track of inventory and funds, said Donna Clancy, SCAMP.
“This is a perfect opportunity for students to learn life skills,” Clancy said.
The Boo Boo Bunnies are available for minimum donations of $3 at the Parsonage, Union General, and Clarkston Village Bakery, all Clarkston Main Street businesses.
“They’re great for baby showers favors, gifts, and Easter baskets,” Clancy said.
The group also goes to local hospitals and gives bunnies to young patients after their visit.
Proceeds benefit SCAMP, Clarkston’s summer camp program for special needs children.
