Boys finish 12 in state, break records

The eight boys that qualified for the Division 1 State meet on March 9 have come home from the Eastern Michigan University meet after placing an overall 12 out of 28 teams. Four varsity record times were set. Junior Zach Diener set a new record in the 200 freestyle at 1.41.77 best the old time of 1.42.05 and also set a record in the 100 Butterfly at 52.94 beating out the old time of 53.66. Sophomore DJ Seeds set the varsity record in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 55.41 besting an old time by more than a second. Senior Jake Lindquist beat his own record with a 56.89 in the 100 breaststroke. With that time he has also earned All-American status which puts him in the top 100 in the United States. Lindquist came to states after a fantastic season including capturing the OAA Red Division Recrod and the Overall OAA record in the 100 breaststroke.
