Boys swim win first dual

In their first home OAA Blue dual meet of the season, the Oxford Varsity Boy swimmers took 11 first place finishes out of 12 events against Hazel Park High School winning 142-29.
‘We had some very exciting races and it was great to get the jitters out against a team like Hazel Park,? said Head Coach Jackie Rank.
In the 200 Medley Relay: Oxford’s A relay of Sereno, Grove, Warren, and Weltyk took first with a time of 1:54.63. Oxford’s B Relay of Scepka, Stresky, Tasch, and Scribner came in second. 200 Freestyle: Oxford Senior Armando Vega took first with a time of 2:06.67. Jake Tasch and Spencer Adamczyk finished second and third respectively.
200 Individual Medley: Oxford Junior Jonah Grove took first with a time of 2:27.11. Tyler Stresky and Michael Scepka rounded out the top three. 50 Freestyle: Oxford Senior Sean Terry finished 1st with a time of 23.15. Trenton Sabo and Bradlee Weltyk took second and third respectively.
Diving: Oxford Sophomore Mitchell Mulligan came in first with a score of 132.75. This score puts Mitchell seventh on Oxford’s All-Time Top Ten list. 100 Butterfly: Oxford Sophomore Garrett Warren finished first with a time of 1:01.21. The time moves Garrett up to sixth on Oxford’s All-Time Top Ten list. Lucas Sereno and Trenton Sabo placed second and third respectively. 100 Freestyle: Oxford Senior Sean Terry came in first with a time of 53.51. Armando Vega and Mario Scribner rounded out the top third. 500 Freestyle: Oxford Sophomore Michael Scepka took first with a time of 6:09.00. Tanner Saxon and Spencer Adamczyk finished second and third respectively.
200 Freestyle Relay: Oxford’s A Relay of Vega, Weltyk, Sabo, and Terry came in first with a time of 1:41.87. Oxford’s B Relay of Grove, Butler, Acton, and Saxon took second. 100 Backstroke: Oxford Sophomore Garrett Warren finished first with a time of 1:02.34. This time moves Garrett up to fourth on Oxford’s All-Time Top Ten list. Lucas Sereno and Jonah Grove came in second and third respectively. 100 Breaststroke: Oxford Senior Raynor Rusinowski placed second with a time of 1:21.62. Zack Acton and Alex Olheiser finished third and fourth respectively. 400 Freestyle Relay: Oxford’s A Relay of Vega, Sabo, Warren, and Terry took first with a time of 3:54.60. Oxford’s B Relay of Scribner, Tasch, Sereno, and Scepka placed second.
The boys take the pool next tomorrow night (Dec. 17) at home against Avondale. The event will begin at 6 p.m.
