Brad Gale had a memorable week for the Clarkston boys track team.
Gale won six events during the Wolves two dual meets and finished in the top five in three events at the West Bloomfield Invitational on April 29.
Gale won both the 100-meter hurdles, the 300-meter hurdles and was part of the winning 1600-meter relay team during Clarkston’s 80-48 victory over Troy on April 25.
He followed that by winning the 100-meter hurdles and anchored the winning 400-meter relay and 1600-meter relay teams in the Wolves 88-40 loss to Lake Orion on April 27.
Gale then took fifth place in the 300-meter hurdles and third place in the 110-meter hurdles at the West Bloomfield Invitational.
With the win against Troy and the loss to Lake Orion, the Wolves are now 3-2. The Wolves won just five of the 16 events against the Dragons.
In addition to Gale’s three wins, Nick Lamora won the 800-meter run and Matt Alexander won the 400-meter run. Alexander’s win was a good sign because this was his first time running the 400.
‘I’m not usually in this event so I was a little nervous,? Alexander said. ‘I’m usually in the 800. I didn’t really know what to expect. I just ran hard. I just want to do whatever the team needs me to do.?
Alexander may continue to run the 400-meter due to his success against Lake Orion. The Wolves have just two dual meets left this season.
Clarkston takes on West Bloomfield on May 9 and Rochester on May 11. But before that, the Wolves will compete in the Ashley Relays at Mott on May 6.
Clarkston’s match with Pontiac Northern on May 2 finished too late for this addition of The Clarkston News.
