Brandon Twp.- Lyndsey Hof has struck gold? twice.
The Brandon High School senior has received a gold award at the national level of the Scholastic Art & Writing awards in the ceramics and glass category for ‘Frankenpot,? a clay pot she created. Hof placed in the top 1 percent of submissions.
Hof got to the national level by winning a Gold Key for the project at the Southeast Michigan Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Subsequently, her art was on display at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit before being shipped to New York City.
Hof will now travel to New York with BHS teacher Jamie Slot for the National Awards Ceremony, planned for June 5 at Carnegie Hall. She may qualify for a $10,000 Alliance for Young Artists & Writers scholarship.
