Brandon boys track evens league record

Brandon’s varsity boys track team evened their Flint Metro League record with a decisive win against Lapeer East April 11.
The visiting Blackhawks defeated the Eagles 87-50, evening their Flint Metro record at 1-1. The Eagles fell to 0-2 in the league.
Kyle Worden and Jake Hardy captured victories in field events for the Blackhawks. Worden won the discus with a throw of 117??9-1/2?, while Hardy took the pole vault with a 10? jump.
Brandon dominated the relay events with three of four victories. Tyler Knight, Alan Cole, Josh Tolan and Nicola Grupido won the 3200 meter relay with a time of 9:31.2, while the team of Chris Ritchie, Steven Webber, Stefon Johnson and Jawan Simpson won both the 800 meter relay (1:39.2) and the 400 meter relay (47.5).
Simpson also won the 100 yard dash (11.9) and the 200 yard dash (24.3), while Tolan won the 400 yard dash (55.9) and Knight won the 1600 meter run (5:04.6). Other victorious Blackhawks were: Nick Mackie in the high hurdles (17.2) and the 300 hurdles (42.0) and Adam George in the 3200 meter run (11:14.2).
