Brandon girls golfers edge Clarkston

After dropping a league contest four days earlier, the Brandon varsity girls golf team bounced back against neighboring Clarkston April 12.
The Blackhawks edged the Wolves 192-195 at Goodrich Country Club, improving to 2-2 overall.
Brandon’s Laura Kwiatkowski earned medalist honors for the matchup, shooting 39 to lead all competitors. Becca Scherer followed with a 49, while Abby Galey and Tiffany Harding rounded out the Brandon scoring with 51 and 53, respectively.
Things did not go as well for the Blackhawks April 8, as Brandon dropped a 202-211 matchup against Oxford in Flint Metro League action. Brandon is now 0-2 in the league.
Once again, Kwiatkowski won medalist honors for the match, finishing with a score of 42. Casey Nesterowich was next with a round of 51, while Jessica Laviolette shot 57 and Scherer 61.
Oxford (3-0, 1-0) was led by Beth Hubbard’s 46. Samara Carroll followed up with a round of 50, while Karen Offer and Chrissy Schiffman each shot 53.
