At 2:19 p.m., July 22, deputies responded to the 3800 block of Cherry St. for a domestic assault in-progress. While en-route deputies were advised via dispatch that a fight had turned physical and that someone had been stabbed. When deputies arrived they observed a male subject escorting another male subject from the home. One of the male subjects was covered in blood and having a difficult time walking. The subject was supporting the victim’s right side and helping him walk. Deputies were advised the suspect was still in the home. The deputy asked the suspect through the door to exit the home, which he did. He was ordered to lay on the ground, as he went to the ground a knife scabbard fell from his hip area onto the deck. He was handcuffed. There was a significant amount of blood on his person/clothing however he was not injured. The home was in such disarray it was difficult to determine where exactly a fight occurred. The two had been arguing over the ownership of an air conditioning unit. The ex-roommate was at the residence attempting to retrieve his personal belongings. A verbal argument ensued between the two roommates and quickly escalated to a physical altercation.
Detectives were notified and responded to the scene. Detectives requested an Evidence Technician to assist them with processing the scene. The 23 year old victim was transported to McLaren-Oakland Hospital where he is reported to be in stable condition. Detectives are continuing with the investigation.
