Oh deer
On Aug. 21, a Brandon deputy euthanized a deer near Sashabaw and Seymour Lake roads after the animal was hit by a vehicle. The driver was issued a permit to take the deer.
Taboo-boo
On Aug. 22, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 900 block of Oakwood Road for a report of larceny from an auto. The complainant reported his vehicle was parked in his driveway and when he went into the vehicle’s console for money he had there to renew his tabs, the money was gone. Also taken were his iPod and a bottle of prescription medication. He was unsure if the vehicle was locked.
Lights out
On Aug. 23, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 4300 block of Sherwood. The homeowner said her doorbell rang at 1 a.m. and her landscape lights were gone.
Bad delivery
On Aug. 23, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 4200 block of Sherwood for malicious destruction of property. The homeowner’s mailbox and post were damaged beyond repair, apparently with a baseball bat or axe handle.
Bad people
On Aug. 23, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 3100 block of Trillium. The homeowner reported someone entered the attached garage through an unlocked side door and stole a welder, plasma cutter, generator and miscellaneous hand tools. He said he has had dealings with many bad people that may have done this.
Little piggy went to SC
On Aug. 23, a Brandon deputy took a report at the substation from a complainant who lives in the 5800 block of Oakhill. The complainant said her sister-in-law was allowed to stay with her for a short time pending a move to South Carolina. After the sister-in-law left, the complainant found $205 missing from her daughter’s piggy bank. A few years ago, she said the suspect stole money from her other daughter. The suspect is currently on probation. The case is open.
Reader recognition
On Aug. 23, a man reading crimewatch in The Citizen recognized found property that included a drill, circular saw, and brake rotor as his property that was stolen. He hadn’t reported it because he didn’t feel the suspects would be caught. After giving a detailed description of the items, the property was returned to him.
Rocked
On Aug. 24, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 5300 block of Oakhill Road for malicious destruction of property to a barn. Two windows were damaged on the southeast corner and four baseball-sized rocks were found inside.
Rocked II
On Aug. 25, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 4400 block of Beechwood for malicious destruction of property to a vehicle. A rock was thrown through the rear window and also struck the front windshield for more damage.
Rocked III
On Aug. 25, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 2800 block of Mulberry for malicious destruction of property to a vehicle. The vehicle’s rear window, rear passenger window, front window and front passenger door were all damaged from rocks.
Smashed
On Aug. 25, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 3600 block of Hawthorne for malicious destruction of property to two vehicles. A van at the residence had a smashed-out rear window, and the rear window of a car, as well as its front window were also smashed.
Bang-Bang
On Aug. 25, a Brandon deputy was dispatched to a home in the 3600 block of Cedar Loop for malicious destruction of property. The homeowner, an employee of a local car dealership, had picked up a 2006 Ford Mustang in Pittsburgh and arrived home at midnight. Around 2:30 a.m., he heard two loud bangs, and at 10 a.m. he found two rocks had been thrown at the car’s windshield, smashing it in.
