During the regular meeting Monday night, the Brandon Board of Education voted 7-0 to approve a cooperative agreement with Jeff Cooper of Oly Swim Club to run the aquatic center.
“We’re really thrilled about this opportunity,” said district superintended Dr. Karl Heidrich. “Jeff is a long time community member, and we’re excited for him to run our program.”
In addition to running the swim program for the school, there will also be open swim hours, senior aerobics and swim lessons, with more programs planned. The previous operator of the pool, Aquaclub, went out of business a few months ago.
The pool is tentatively scheduled to open again on June 1.
