Brandon teens held on $100,000 bond

Brandon Twp – Nearly three weeks after their arrest, two Brandon teens remain jailed for multiple thefts in two townships.
On June 3 the pair were arrested for allegedly breaking into an Independence Township church after being spotted driving recklessly, by Deputy Dawn Mullins of the Oakland County Sheriff Department, Independence Township.
Reportedly the pair were linked to the church break-in after the deputy noticed several electronic items in the glove compartment. The deputy also found a beer in the truck.
A motorcycle in the back of the truck identified as one reported stolen from Brandon Township, prompted the arrest of the pair. The two boys were arrested by Mullins for the alleged church break-in and held on $100,000 bonds.
On Tuesday, June 22 Detective Brad Teague from the Oakland County Sheriff Brandon Substation issued warrants for the Brandon larcenies.
Teague said both teens were arraigned on felony charges with a $100,000 cash bond for a felony theft of a motorcycle and an additional $20,000, each, cash bond on two misdemeanors.
Both will appear in circuit court on Monday, June 28.
In addition a 15-year-old Oxford girl is also under investigation after allegedly committing several larcenies in Brandon Township, including multiple malicious destruction instances.The teens said they started the crime spree after the 15-year-old girl they were with stole a purse from a parked car. They also allegedly broke into several garages, homes, and cars, stating they stole things to pawn for money.
The night before their arrest the trio allegedly stole a motorcycle and took pictures of each other riding the bike with a stolen digital camera. Teague said he was able to download the photos to use as evidence.
Since the two boys have been arrested, Detective Teague said breaking and entering crimes have decreased.
