A Brandon Township teen who returned to the scene of his crime has been charged with home invasion and will face several other criminal matters in juvenile court.
Michael Keshun Kidd-Harris, 17, was arraigned on one count of home invasion, second degree, on Nov. 2 in front of 52-2 District Court Judge Kelley Kostin. Home invasion is a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
Brandon deputies responded to a report of breaking and entering at about 5:03 p.m., Oct. 13, in the 3800 block of Larch Court in the Clarkston Lakes Mobile Home Park. The complainant said she believed she came home while the intruder was still in the house. A patio chair was under the master bedroom window and a double fan previously in the window was hanging outside by a cord and was still powered on. The window was shut and fingerprints were on the glass. A jewelry box had been emptied and the complainant’s small dogs were barking and ‘going crazy,? she said.
As the complainant was taking this all in, a black male, later identified as Kidd-Harris, walked in the door and told her a white kid had just jumped out the bedroom window. Nothing was discovered missing and when Kidd-Harris was interviewed by investigators, he confessed.
As a result of the investigation, Kidd-Harris is facing several other pending criminal matters in juvenile court, details of which can’t be released.
Kidd-Harris is being held at the Oakland County Jail.
