Weed fee
Goodrich – Now that it’s spring, the village wants to make sure residential and commercial properties are kept free of overgrown weeds and grass.
The village council OK’d by a 5-0 vote a weed ordinance at the Monday meeting.
Starting on May 1, grass or weeds more than 6 inches on commercial or residential property may be subject to removal at the cost of the property owner. The cost will include a 15 percent administrative fee.
‘Our DPW will make the determination. We will call people first with a bid,? said Street Administrator Pete Morey. ‘This is mostly a problem in undeveloped lots where someone lives next to it and it has become annoying. The best case scenario is once a property owner is called, they will find someone else to take care of it.?
