Groveland Twp.- Customers shopping at Bueche’s Food World during the first weekend in October may be seeing a lot of denim.
Normally, Bueche’s employees wear black or navy dress pants, but from Oct. 5-7, employees will have Denim Days, during which they can make a $5 donation to wear jeans. The proceeds will go to Women’s Cancer Programs of EIF (Entertainment Industry Foundation), to raise money for breast cancer treatment, detection, and support. The program is partnered with Lee National Denim Day.
Salliann Dore, a Bueche’s employee, organized the effort, in which customers are also welcome to make donations for that week (look for a slip in your Bueche’s circular for the sale beginning Oct. 1 and inserted in The Citizen’s Sept. 29 edition).
Dore’s mother-in-law and sister-in-law died from breast cancer and the disease was detected in her grandmother this year.
