An informal opening of the volleyball court at Green’s Park was held last Saturday. The new court has been open since Thursday, July 26.
‘This is the first time the park has had a volleyball court,? said Michael Toth, Village Council member.
The newly built court has already attracted the attention of many visitors and park regulars. At the informal opening celebration, which ran from 5-7 p.m., Peter Peterson and Marshall Moon joined in a friendly game with Toth, playing against several visitors.
According to Toth, one person went and purchased a park pass just to use the volleyball court.
The court was built by the Department of Public Works and Lake Orion Lumber donated the posts for the net and the drain system.
Green’s Park is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the summer. Park passes may be obtained from Village Hall.
