Oxford’s Goodwill store was the victim of a burglary late Friday night.
Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched around 11:49 p.m. in response to a security alarm at the store.
When they arrived, they discovered the store’s rear door had been pried open and there was damage to an interior office door. According to Sheriff’s Lt. Larry Perry, nothing was reported as stolen.
A fingerprint was lifted from the damaged interior door and sent down to the sheriff’s crime lab for analysis.
A K-9 unit was dispatched to the scene to conduct a search in the area. The dog followed a scent about a quarter-mile into the nearby Parkhurst mobile home park before losing the trail.
The sheriff’s department has no suspects at this time, but the investigation continues. ‘There is an in-store video camera system,? Perry noted. ‘We’re going to try to review that to see if their video cameras captured anything.?
