Police were called to Caberfae Trail twice the week of Feb. 27 for continued reports of a suspicious man in the neighborhood with his dog.
On March 3, police were able to locate the man and advised him of a resident’s concern he was trying to steal a dog. According to reports, the man stated he was dropping of his child at Bailey Lake Elementary and walked his dog through the neighborhood for exercise. He denied having any intention of stealing any dogs.
As reported in the March 1 edition of The Clarkston News, a Caberfae Trail resident, who wished not to be identified, informed police she believed the man was part of a professional dog-napping ring.
The man was advised not to walk his dog through the neighborhood and advised of the leash ordinance in Independence Township.
