Cagers overcome losing streak

The Oxford varsity boys basketball team has finally overcome their long losing streak.
The Cats won two straight games last week against the Brandon Blackhawks and the Linden Eagles.
The Wildcats defeated Lindeon 66-42 Friday night. This victory moved their record to 5-11 overall and 5-8 in the Flint Metro League.
The Cats started the game off playing with a lot of intensity and led by 14-1 by the end of the first quarter.
Coach Steve Laidlaw was pleased with how the team started the game and how well they played throughout the first half, building a 35-13 lead at half time.
Senior Brandon Dugan led the Wildcats in scoring with 25 points. Junior Zach Tilley followed with ten points, and junior Eric Turk put seven points on the board. Junior Rick Brady had seven rebounds.
Last Tuesday, the Wildcats beat the Blackhawks at home 56-43.
Junior Chris Keenist led the team with 19 points and dominated the boards with 19 rebounds.
Dugan had 12 points and seven rebounds, Brady had 13 rebounds and Tilley had six assists.
This just in: Goodrich beat Oxford Tuesday night 62-42.
