This year’s election for the Oxford Board of Education promises to be a competitive one based on the number of candidates who filed with the Oakland County Elections Division.
Five candidates are running for two, four-year seats on the board.
Incumbents Colleen Schultz and Bill Keenist will defend their seats against challengers Lisa Kempner, Bryan Thomas and Rhonda Yell.
The deadline to file as a school board candidate was 4 p.m. Aug. 10.
