Car wash contributes check to charity

Clarkston Auto Wash celebrated its 20th Anniversary by providing free car washes on Friday. They washed 597 cars and accepted donations that totaled $2,815.50 for Clarkston’s Lighthouse Emergency Services.
Clarkston Auto Wash owners, Fred and Sheila Ritter, presented LES with a cashier’s check and three grocery carts full of food that was also collected during their business anniversary event.
“We’re thankful for the generosity of people,” said Fred Ritter, Clarkston Auto Wash owner. “It was a good experience for our young crew as well, to recognize the need and see the value in their efforts,” Ritter added. Ritter’s staff consists largely of high school and college students.
Pete’s Coney Island contributed to the anniversary event as well, donating food throughout the day for the car wash crews.
