New recreation programmer

Theresa Sheridan is the new recreation programmer for the Orion Township Parks and Recreation Department. Sheridan will work 40 hours per week, at $12.08 per hour ($25,118 annually), plus benefits. Sheridan was selected for the position out of a field of 21 applicants. She passed the new hire physical, drug screening and background check.

Block party on Saturn Drive

Saturn Drive will be temporarily closed in the Keatington Subdivision on Sept. 13 for a block party. The street will be closed from 3-11 p.m. The request for closure was reviewed by the fire chief, DPW director and Oakland County Sheriff’s Department, and approved by the Orion Township Board on Sept. 2.

Attending MSPO Conference

Members of the Orion Township Board of Trustees, planning commission, zoning board of appeals and other appropriate staff have been approved to be able to attend the Michigan Society of Planning 2003 Annual Conference on Oct. 15-18.
