Oakview Middle School, in the Lake Orion School District, has been actively involved in raising money for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Race. The rally is being held on May 22-23 at Lake Orion High School. All of the money goes towards funds for cancer research, education, advocacy, and patient service programs. This fundraiser was initiated by Peggy McCatty and her son, Miles. The students from Miles? sixth grade team very generously donated money through Mrs. Petruzzello’s math classes. Through their hard work and diligence they have earned a total of $546.81. They will continue to contribute until May 21. All of the money collected will be presented at the relay on May 22, 2004.
