Charger teams ready for playoffs

The 14U Orion Chargers finished in second place with an 18-6 record in the North Oakland Baseball Federation (NOBF).
The Chargers finished the season strong by winning 11 of their last 12 NOBF games, including winning their last eight games.
The Chargers played 24 NOBF games in 35 days. It was a total team effort with eight of the 12 rostered players having pitching victories.
Team members include Emilio Rene Arribas, Christian ‘Tiki? Carrasco, Lance Dargavell, Trevor Mielock, Matt Musary, Chris Poirier, Josh Ruggeri, Cole Schaenzer, Connor Shinouskis, Jordan Wilson, Alex Yee, and Zach Zott.
All of the players will be attending Lake Orion High School in the fall. The team is coached by Mike Musary, Dave Wilson, and Andy Dargavell.
The Chargers will head to the Hillsdale Sandy Koufax 14U districts on July 12-14, where they will face teams from Jackson, Lenawee, and Southern Michigan.
The winner of the Hillsdale district will head to the North Central Sandy Koufax Regional in St. Michael, Minnesota on July 18-22.

The 10U Lake Orion Chargers had a big week. Fresh off their runners-up finish at the CABA State Tournament, the Chargers were clearly not done.
After playing five tournament games in three days, the Chargers finished their regular season with two more wins in the following three days over division rivals.
In their final game of the NOBF season, Dominic Maduri and Joe Turnbull combined to pitch a three hit 4-1 season ending victory over the eventual regular season league champion, Clarkston Riverdawgs. Cory Stockwell, Christian James, Maduri and Turnbull scored for the Chargers.
On the strength of this victory and their strong 16-6 league record, the Chargers earned a berth to the AABC District Playoffs in Marshall, July 5-7.
The Marshall District Playoffs consist of eight teams from throughout the state that will compete for one spot in the regionals to be held in Chesterfield Township from July 12-15.
