Check fraud

A 38-year-old Beverly Hills man who attempted to cash a fradulent $2,000 check at the Oxford Bank in Ortonville last August was sentenced to 365 days in the Oakland County Jail on May 4 in front of Sixth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Fred Mester.
Harvey Alexander Savage was credited for 119 days served, received 36 months of probation, and was ordered to pay $5,260 in restitution, fees, and costs.
Savage pleaded guilty to uttering and publishing on March 28. He also has extradition detainers from the U.S. Marshal Service in Washington, D.C., and Ohio.
