Chili’s calls it quits

Another week’s gone by and another local business is preparing to shut down.
On Saturday, the staff of Chili’s Grill & Bar in Oxford (700 N. Lapeer Rd.) was informed the 5,800-square-foot chain restaurant will close its doors Monday, Feb. 9.
Ironically, Chili’s just opened in September 2007 as part of the Promenade at Waterstone shopping center, most of which has yet to be built, located next door to Meijer.
Due to corporate policies, no one at the Oxford Chili’s could officially comment on the closing.
Phone calls to Brinker International, the Dallas, Texas-based company that owns Chili’s, were not returned.
Chili’s joins the growing list of Oxford businesses that have recently closed.
Since December, Kalloway’s Restaurant & Pub, CC’s Cyber Cafe and Carla’s Fresh Market have all gone out of business.
Aunt Nan’s Fabrics in downtown Oxford is scheduled to shut its doors later this month.
