Finishing in the black seems like a rare occurence throughout Michigan lately.
The City of the Village of Clarkston did so by the skin of its teeth.
At the June 27 City of the council meeting, the board approved the revised 2005 budget of $798,066 in expenditures which left only $438 to spare.
In other 2005 business, the council revised amounts for local road funds from $22,100 to $30,700 and revised the major road budget from $34,100 to $56,263.
The proposed 2006 budget, as of now, has a $4,292 surplus with expenditures of $771,863 and $776,155 of expected income.
