Clarkston Band celebrates 10 years

The Clarkston Community Band launches its 10th season with ‘Celebration!?
The band originally formed in c.1890 is celebrating ten great years now under the musical direction of Vince Chrisman with the founding Director Jeanne Pierce and the next Director Jeff Laity.
Hear the great Sousa marches ‘The Free Lance,? ‘The Liberty Bell? and ‘The Stars and Stripes Forever? with the upbeat style of the great master himself. The award winning ‘Symphonic Suite? by Clifton Williams is a magnificent work that is one of the enduring classics of the symphonic band repertoire. ‘GreenAcres? and ‘State Fair Suite? focuses on music in the style of the early years of community as one of the oldest bands in the state. The dance and popsounds of ‘Smoky Joe’s Caf?? along with many others will keep your toes tapping and
you swinging to the delightful blend of popular tunes.
The event takes place on Nov. 6 at 3 p.m. at Clarkston High School. The concert is free.
