Kickers added three more games to the win column after last week.
“They were good,” said Clarkston Boys Varsity Soccer Coach Chuck Lawhorn. “It was tough for us, especially on Friday. It was our sixth game in six days.”
They opened the week against Waterford Mott with a 3-1 win on Aug. 23, with two goals from Ryne Jones and a goal from Spenser Pawlik – all in the second half.
“When we started to pick up in the second half and we were able to build on that in practice on Wednesday,” Lawhorn added.
The boys conquered the Lake Orion field on Aug. 25 – leaving a 2-1 win in their wake, both goals from Brad Schultz.
“We controlled the game for the most part,” Lawhorn said. “It was definitely a confidence booster. A lot of the boys haven’t played at Lake Orion before and to win the game meant a lot to them. The guys who came off the bench played really well. Coming off that emotional win everyone put out a lot of energy. We came out on Friday and struggled a little bit.”
But the sturggle didn’t show on the scoreboard as the boys beat Waterford Kettering, 2-1. Conor Bright and Brandon Reynolds scored for the Wolves in the game.
The boys played at Detroit Catholic Central on Tuesday and host Rochester Adams on Thursday, 7 p.m.
“I saw Adams on Saturday and they struggled against Ann Arbor Pioneer,” Lawhorn noted. “But Pioneer is a good team. I know Adams will be ready for us.”
He also added everything is coming together for the Wolves and the boys are beginning to gel.
