Fifth-graders at Clear Lake Elementary held a belated Veterans Day celebration last week during which they honored some area servicemen and women for doing their duty.
Students sang patriotic songs, recited poetry, had the veterans introduce themselves and then presented each of them with a certificate and American flag pin.
After the ceremony, the students and veterans adjourned to the school cafeteria where they chatted over refreshments.
