On Nov. 4, Oakland County Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard kicked off the 2005 ‘Coats for the Cold? coat collection drive at Outback Steakhouse in Southfield. This year’s drive is from Nov. 4 to 18. The drive is sponsored by Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and Portable On Demand Storage is providing portable storage units at 35 drop-off sites around Oakland County.
The new or clean used coats will be given to several charitable organizations who will distribute them to people in need. Local drop-off sites include: Outbeak Steakhouse at 6435 Dixie Highway, the Oakland County Sheriff’s substation at 6560 Citation Drive and the Oakland County Sheriff’s substation at 9075 Big Lake Road.
