Column was way out of line

(In response to: ‘Why yes, indeed, I believe Jesus pooped,’ a column by Don Rush, The Citizen, April 16, page 6)
Dear Mr. Sherman,
I am writing this letter with a sad heart because of the article written by Mr. Don Rush and published by you in the April 16 edition of The Citizen concerning the Lord Jesus Christ.
I believe the subject of the article would be inappropriate for discussion about anyone, let alone the Holy Son of God, who died on the cross of Calvary and shed his blood for the forgiveness of our sins, if we ask for it.
I have read and enjoyed your paper for many years and considered it a family newspaper. I have also read many of Mr. Rush’s columns and found them to be interesting and/or amusing, but this article was way out of line and totally unnecessary. I am very disappointed in both of you for allowing this article to be published.
Jesus said in Matthew, chapter 12, verse 36, that all men will be accountable for every idle word spoken and that will certainly include this article.
As a believer in Jesus Christ, I was offended that he would be treated with such irreverence and disrespect, especially in light of the fact that although he is the sinless Lamb of God, He was willing to die on the cross and shed his blood to pay for our sins. I hope that both of you will examine your actions and ask the most high God for forgiveness.
Sincerely,
Joyce Brock
