Leading Oxford organizations have teamed up to honor members of the community whose efforts contribute to the growth and development of Oxford.
In 2011. the Oxford Chamber of Commerce held their Community Awards where a number of local leaders, community members and organizations were recognized for their contributions to Oxford. There are seven categories for nominees:
Diamond Award ? This award recognizes one individual who contributes time, energy, talents and resources to the betterment of the Oxford community.
Advocate of the Year ? This award is given to an individual or group that raises awareness, educates and informs the community about a cause or initiative for the enhancement of Oxford.
Philanthopist of the Year ? This award is presented to an individual or organization that unselfishly gives back to others and improves the overall quality of life for Oxford residents.
Public Servant of the Year ? This award recognizes a person or group holding a government position, either by election or appointment, who goes above and beyond in their service to the community.
Brick Award ? This award recognizes a new or existing business that contributes to the Oxford community through their entrepreneurial efforts.
Outstanding Community Service ? These awards are presented to individuals who service their community outside of their paid position to the following organizations ? Chamber of Commerce, Parks and Recreation, Oxford Village, Oxford Public Library, Oxford Community Schools, Oxford Fire Department, Oxford Police Department, Oxford Township and Oxford DDA
Non-profit of the Year ? Recognizes a non-profit organization that goes above and beyond standards that exist within the community.
Any person can nominate a friend or an organization for these awards. The nominees do not need to live in Oxford, however their efforts towards the improvement of Oxford needs to form the foundation for their nomination.

Nominations can be made on-line or application forms can be picked up and returned to any of the following locations ? Oxford Township and Village, Oxford Fire and Village Police, DDA office, Parks and Recreation, chamber office, library and the school administration building.
