My sincere thanks to the wonderful, caring people of Orion Township and beyond who have sent cards and gifts of inspiration and who have kept me in their thought and prayers since my diagnosis of breast cancer six month ago.
Surgery is done. The chemo treatments are completed. And I am, as of today, a six-month survivor!
Now I’m into recovery. But as Lance Armstrong (five-time winner of the Tour de France) concluded after his experience with cancer in 1998, recovery may be an even bigger challenge than either the cancer or the chemo.
Rebuilding one’s body and regaining one’s energy level is a long and difficult process for those of us who were used to moving at a much quicker pace.
I’m healing. I still need to learn to be more patient with the length of time that it takes to be fully healed. So thoughts and prayers continue to be welcome.
Once again, thanks for helping get me this far in my journey beyond cancer. I couldn’t have done it without you.
