As construction continues along the Sashabaw corridor, drivers are seeking alternate routes through local neighborhoods.
Homeowners have responded by placing signs calling for drivers to slow down as they make their way through residential areas.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Office has stepped up patrols, and fines and points for speeding range from $115 and two points for 1-5 mph over the limit, to $180 and four points for more than 36 mph over, according to www.oakgov.com. Points increase and fines can be doubled in construction zones.
