On June 21, the circus will be returning to Ortonville.
“We had rave reviews the last time,” said Ed Albertson, Ortonville Lions Club event coordinator. “It was very well received.”
The Culpepper and Merriweather circus will be putting on two shows, at 5 and 7:30 p.m., on June 21, sponsored by the Ortonville Lions Club for the second time.
In addition to the tent raising, when the kids get to walk around before the shows begin, the shows themselves will feature jungle cats, clowns, unicyclists, a tightrope act, acrobats and more. There will also be two special ring leaders featured, Larry Pete, a Harvey Swanson teacher at 5 p.m. and Jessica Pete, an Oakwood teacher at 7 p.m.
The one ring C and M circus has been featured on Entertainment Tonight, the Los Angeles Times and the Chicago Tribune.
“The biggest thing is they all save money buying tickets in advance,” said Albertson. “They go up three dollars a ticket at show time.”
Tickets are $7/kids and seniors and $10/adults. Prices go up to $10/kids and seniors and $13/adults at the door. Tickets are available at Hamilton’s, Amedae Salon, the Edna Burton Senior Center and The Citizen newspaper.
