For 57 years, Curtis Insurance Agency in downtown Oxford has been owned and operated by a Curtis family member ? started by Ralph R. Curtis in 1948 and taken over by his son, Ralph P. Curtis in 1984.
Well, the year 2005 starts a new era at Curtis Insurance Agency when Greg Clay, known to Ralph P. Curtis for 15 years, takes over at the helm. But, Ralph is not going anywhere fast.
Ralph plans to still work at the agency for the next three years, managing his existing accounts and assisting Greg in the transition. Another familiar face at the agency, Brenda Gyomory, 18-year veteran of the agency, will also take over a small share of ownership in the company.
This change is not something Ralph Curtis has taken lightly ? for the past five years , he has been looking at a way to perpetuate Curtis Insurance and keep it locally owned and managed. He said, ‘Greg is the perfect individual to lead this agency ? he reminds me of myself when I first started in the business. He brings an energy and enthusiasm that will help Curtis Insurance not only maintain its existing commitment to serving clients, but grow the business as well.?
According to Ralph, Greg not only brings extensive business experience to the agency, but a strong set of ethics that was very important in choosing a successor.

Greg lives in Oakland Township and is involved in many business groups, volunteer groups, and church activities in the area as well.
While Greg is excited about becoming the new owner of Curtis Insurance, and has some new ideas he would like to implement, he also stressed that Curtis Insurance is going to continue to provide the same quality services and insurance products that have assisted businesses and individuals in Oakland County for 57 years.
