On Nov. 26 around 4:37 a.m., Oakland County Sheriffs deputies from the Independence Township substation were dispatched to POH Clarkston for a patient that had apparently sustained substantial knife injuries and was being uncooperative.
The highly intoxicated 31-year-old man from Troy was treated for two 9-inch lacerations to his left arm and a 6-inch laceration to his right arm.
The victim said he had been out drinking at the bar with a friend and was cut up, but would not reveal the friend’s name or how the cuts occurred.
A witness said the victim was dropped off by a van. A deputy located the van in the parking lot and interviewed the driver who turned out to be the man’s friend, but gave a conflicting report of the event. A search was conducted of the van turning up blood.
The driver of the van, a 32-year-old Clarkston man, said his friend was cut after leaving a bar and going to an apartment in Waterford.
The victim was arrested and turned over to a Friend of the Court officer on an unrelated charge, said Sergeant Baldes of the Independence substation.
At this time, the matteris turned over to the Waterford Police who can choose to follow up on the incident, said Baldes.
